禱告來的麵包牛奶
Bread and Milk from Prayer

不僅盤子空了，孤兒院裡所有的食物櫃也都空了。然而，院長喬治穆勒卻沒有慌了手腳。他繼續帶領三百個孩子和工作同仁，一起為當日上帝將要供應的飲食感謝禱告。禱告結束時，傳來一陣敲門巨響。原來是麵包師傅帶來一整條麵包，是早晨上帝激動他為孤兒們烘烤的。喬治謝謝他送上這份禮物，便關上了門。不久又傳來另一陣敲門聲，這次是個送牛奶的男人。他的貨車正好在孤兒院前拋錨，由於必須在修理之前先清空貨品，於是他想知道孤兒們是否需要牛奶。

「喬治穆勒」這個名字已經成為信心的同義詞。他記錄了上千個禱告的回應，都與他在英國的孤兒工作有關，這個事工最終幫助了上萬個孩子。然而，在滿足孤兒的身體需求之外，喬治的目標在於挑戰基督徒的信心。他渴望藉著自己的工作，證明信靠上帝的供應並非徒然，上帝的話是可靠的。

Not only were the plates empty but so were all the cupboards in the orphanage. However, this did not faze the director, George Mueller. He proceeded to lead the 300 children and staff members in a prayer of thanksgiving to God for the food that He would provide for them that day. When they finished praying, there was a loud knock at the door. It was a baker with a load of bread that God had prompted him to bake for the orphans early that morning. George thanked him for this gift and closed the door. Moments later there was another knock. This time it was a man who delivered milk. His truck had broken down right in front of the orphanage. He needed to empty his truck before he could make the necessary repairs to it and wondered if the orphans could use the milk.

The name George Mueller has become synonymous with faith. He recorded thousands of answers to prayer in connection with his orphan work in England, which eventually cared for more than 10,000 children. However, more than meeting the physical needs of orphans, his goal was to challenge the faith of Christians. He desired to prove through his work that it was not a vain thing to trust God for provisions and that God could be taken at His word.
